Dr Victoria Showunmi
Dr Victoria Showunmi is an Associate Professor at University College London in the Faculty of Institute of Education. BERA Academic Citerzin Award 2023:

Her interests are gender, identity, and race through the lens of intersectionality, focusing on leadership and the lived experience of Black women and girls. She is a member of the Gender and Education Executive, Conference Chair for British Educational Leadership Management and Administration Society, Chair of the International studies SIG, American Educational Research Association, and co-convenor, Gender Network, European Educational Research Association. She is on the editorial board of Bloomsbury Educational Leadership: Innovative Critical and Interdisciplinary Perspectives and Transforming Education through `Critical Educational Leadership, Policy and Practice’ (Emerald) as well as assistant editor for the International Journal of Leadership in Education.
She has an international profile based on the dissemination of her research through publication and teaching. Her scholarly work is acclaimed nationally and internationally. Victoria develops fresh conceptual frameworks focusing on equity and social justice, especially the interplay between people and the sophistication of behaviours which lead to disengagement with the promotion of equality. Her work shows how culture and cultural background have the potential to disrupt power structures and lead to transformational change.Victoria is experienced in engaging with senior policymakers and leaders of education. She served as adviser to Local Education Authorities (LEAs) on the recruitment and development of international teachers.

تهتمّ أ.د. شوانمي في مجالات الجندر، والهويّة، والعرق من منظور نظريّة التقاطعيّة، مع التركيز على القيادة والتجربة الحيّة لنساء وفتيات ذوات بشرة سوداء. أ.د. شوانمي هي عضو في المؤتمر التنفيذيّ للجندر والتربية، ورئيسة جمعيّة الإدارة البريطانيّة للقيادة التربويّة، ورئيسة جمعيّة الدراسات الدوليّة SIG، والجمعية الأمريكيّة للبحوث التربويّة، وهي مُنَظِّمة مُشارِكة في شبكة الجنسانيّة- الجمعيّة الأوروبيّة للبحوث التربويّة. أ.د. شوانمي عضو في هيئة تحرير بلومزبري للقيادة التعليميّة: وجهات نظر نقديّة ومبتكرة ومتعدّدة التخصّصات وتحويل التعليم من خلال قيادات نقديّة تعليميّة، والسياسات، والممارسات (إميرالد)، كما أنّها محرّرة مساعِدة في المجلّة الدوليّة للقيادة في التعليم.
لشوانمي مكانة دوليّة نظرًا لانتشار أبحاثها من خلال النشر والتدريس، ويُشهد لعملها العلميّ على الصعيدين الوطنيّ والدوليّ. تقوم بتطوير أُطر مفاهيميّة جديدة تركّز على الإنصاف والعدالة الاجتماعيّة، وخصوصًا التفاعل بين الناس وتطوير السلوكيّات التي تقود إلى الانفصال عن تعزيز المساواة. تُظهر أبحاثها كيف بإمكان الثقافة والخلفيّة الثقافيّة إعاقة مباني القوّة وقيادة تغيير تحوّليّ. تتمتّع أ.د. شوانمي بخبرة في التعامل مع كبار صانعي السياسيات وقيادات التعليم. عملت كمستشارة لسُلطات تعليم محليّة بشأن توظيف وتطوير معلّمين دوليّين
